Sievo was founded by two visionaries … Sammeli Sammalkorpi and Matti Sillanpää … let us tell us the brief story:
Sammeli and Matti’s joint history dates back from their time as Masters of Science graduate students from Helsinki University of Technology ... but it was only during their career in management consulting that the business idea behind the firm crystallized, realizing companies lacked certain essential systems to manage their procurement performance ... and from this emerged the idea of developing procurement performance management best practices and codifying these into a software solution …
And so, on a dark December Sunday in 2003, Sammeli and Matti decided to found a company with a single mission ... to advance procurement performance ... a company that was to be named Sievo …
Sammeli is now heading business development at Sievo leveraging his management consulting background and studies of software business management and disseminating the experience he gained in running his own small custom software development company
Matti currently heads Product Management at Sievo leveraging the skills he had gained at Nokia and the deep expertise he acquired in architecting Sievo
They were shortly after joined by Johan-Peter Teppala to take the responsibility of Sievo’s Delivery function. His Masters Degree from Helsinki University of Technology combined with a background in management consulting has set the passion to work in intersection of technology and procurement… Having served Sievo customers in many corners of the globe and being able to advance this part of what we do, Johan Peter also holds the responsibility of Sievo’s Customer Support team
Sami Vanhamaki joined the team late 2009 to head the Sales and Marketing functions of Sievo … as all Sievo management team members, Sami leverages his management consulting expertise that are complemented by a decade worth of experience in the sourcing and procurement space he gained at Nokia in multiple geographies
With the objective for further advance Sievo, the founders invited Fabrice Saporito to join them as CEO .. Fabrice is considered in many ways as one of the fathers of Sievo … he met the team at the joint crucial milestone that truly gave birth to Sievo: LEGO. Educated in the French Grandes Ecoles and at Harvard Business School, he brings strategy and management skills to Sievo’s strong engineering foundation. Combining his passion for solving problems honed with Booz & Company and The Boston Consulting Group, his finance skills and a love for technology he found at IBM, Fabrice aims at making Sievo a successfully different software firm.
Sievo’s management team is just the tip of the iceberg of a successful group of people … people that matter and make a difference every day for their clients … and because the world is global, Sievo is proud of continuously expanding its international people footprint around its Finnish roots
And because we believe in the value of experience we have surrounded ourselves with a board of directors that look after the interest of the many stakeholders that Sievo serves

Sievo is chaired by Ossi Pohjola. Ossi brings years of experience in the technology space from his experience as member of Oracle EMEA management team, Andersen Consulting (Accenture) and the board positions he currently holds with successful software firms such as Basware
Asko Piekkola, a Partner with AG Partners Corporate Finance, offers years of experience in the Finance space that he honed as a successful CFO and senior executive with large listed Finnish companies and the board positions he holds with firms such as QPR Software
And to complement our expertise base, Pekka Ojanpaa , President Kemira Municipal & Industrial business, brings years of general management and procurement expertise he honed at Nokia where he served as Managing Director Nokia Hungary/VP Sourcing & Procurement, Electromechanics Supply Line Management
